hi all,

if any of the forum experts can please advise...

what is the standard price for playing pool at a pool hall?

i went to a pool hall and played pool (pool table with the 6 pocket holes)
and was charged 1500 won per 10minutes!

considering pc room is 1000-1500 per hour i felt the pool hall was a bit too expensive...

thanks for any answers

Ya got ripped off mate. Whenever I go, it's like 3000/hour, maybe even less.

hmm. I've only been a couple times but 1500/10 minutes is about 9000/hour..
I don't think it was quite that much.. maybe 6000 or 7000 but I played outside Seoul.

Last time I went here in Pohang (a few years ago), pocketball tables were 10k an hour...but the places I went only had one or two tables. They mostly had the Korean, pocketless games, which were much cheaper (like 3k an hour). The premium price seemed to be because they were seldom used (except by guys on dates), so they needed to pay for their floor space with a higher rate when they WERE used....

If you find a pool hall that actually has all pocketball tables, maybe it is less...but 9k an hour sounds about right for where I am....

Pocketball here in Ilsan is around 10,000W per hour at the place I go to. Nice place though and the owner is really friendly towards foreigners.

10K an hour is standard. 8-9 is common, and anything under 7 is cheap.

From my experience, that seems about right for a large-ish sized city. In smaller cities I think it's about 7-8k /hour for a normal place where students hang out.
