This might be a bit premature, as I haven't even applied to GEPIK yet, but I plan on requesting a school in Bucheon. If I were to go there, does anyone know of a good gym? I'm talking a legitimate dumbbell collection, squat rack, benches, dip station, maybe a leg press machine, etc. I'm interested in how much I'm going to have to pay for something like this (I know it's expensive). I asked a Korean friend from Bucheon and all she could recommend were a couple places with an ass-load of treadmills, which I don't really need.

Thanks a lot.

I used to go to a gym in Bucheon which was owned by a bodybuilder. They have lots of treadmills, but also a lot of weight machines and free weights. Not exactly my field of expertise, so don't know if it has everything you want, but might be worth checking out! It's near Kim's Club/Homeplus.

I went to one above the Home Plus Express. It had all the standard machines and a range of free weights. There were a few body builder type dudes (compared to most Korean thin/lean muscle guys) so I guess it was sufficient.

It was 150k for 3 months, so not expensive. If you are feeling committed, the cost per month goes down for longer memberships.

I used to go to the gym in Lotte Dept Store, super nice but pretty expensive. Has all the things your looking for, trainers on site to help with anything, and best part is that its not cramped in there like 95% of the gyms in Korea. You actually walk around or whatever you want to do without bumping into equipment or people. You also get a sauna and a pool including in your membership fee.
