Hi
We are new in Busan. We live in Gaegeum Jugong Apt. ,Danggam-Dong, Busanjin-Gu.
I am interested in some nearby places to hangout during weekends, particularly.
1. CGV or Megabox
2. Closest Subway from Our Place
We can take Bus 1004 to Busan Station.
Any info will be great
Regards

Hi there!
I'm based in Danggam at the moment (finished on Friday though and moving to Seoul)
I'm not really familiar with Gaegum and the buses that serve it etc. but can tell you what I know from a Danggam point of view!
The closest subway stop is Buam, you can walk from the main street in Danggam in about 15 minutes, but the area is pretty well served by buses.
The 17 will take you to seomyeon (10 mins) or busan station (40 mins)
The 23 also goes through seomyoen, but im not sure where that terminates.
The 88 will take you to Nampodong (60 mins) or if you stay on a bit longer you will end up in Taejongdae (sp.?) which is a kind of mountain / cliff with a park which is beautiful during the nice weather.
The 141 goes out to Haeundae (60 mins) and terminates at Songjeong, a beach thats smaller, quieter and generally more pleasant than Haeundae during the summer when its uber crowded.
All times are approx obviously!
The closest movie theatres are in Seomyeon theres two CGV's there and a cinema on the 9th Floor of the Lotte department store, which is right where the bus stops.
Also theres a homplus in Gaya and an Emart in Buam, both cost about 4000 in a taxi. |

Thanks a lot. Actually, my wife works there and I work in Suwon. So, I go there on weekends or she comes here. Last time, I figured out the Seomyeom is the nearest place where I can go to watch movies or hang out.
But, I have not seen any of the buses you mentioned. I noticed bus numbers like 1004, 169, 169-1, etc near our house.
But you gave a lot of information. I will try to see how I can use the info to find out the best routes to happening places. Taking taxis in a big city is quite costly |

The 169's go into Seomyeon, one of them goes through Danggam, cant remember which one though.
Not having a subway stop is a pain though, but seomyoen an intersection for lines one and two so at least thats a bit convenient. |

My plan is to find the closest Subway stop and use it as an entry to the city. From home to that subway stop, and the other way round, i am planning to take taxis.
Thats why I want to find the most suitable subway stop from my house, i.e., Gaegum Jugong Apt. I myself do not know the details of the area yet. |

Dong-Eui University Subway stop is the closest one. I use to live in the area. But it's about a 10 minute walk from the subway. You have to cross over a bridge that spans a railway yard to get there. And yes, Seomyon is the closest place with anything to do in the area. |

A good friend of mine lived in those vary same appartments a few years ago! He lived in building 101 and then moved to 202.
Good hangouts are nearby..
Somyeon is a short bus ride (no 169 and a couple others) away. Just get off at Lotte Department Store (you cannot miss it). A cab ride to Somyeon will cost you peanuts also.
Somyeon is a busy neighborhood with shopping, coffee shops, restaurants, movie theatres, bars....
Closest subway would be either Somyeon or perhaps Dong eui station. Those would be a bit far to walk to.
Line 3 runs on the other side of the train tracks.
Busan Station is no good to hang out and its closer and better for you to go to Somyeon, Kyungsung University or even PNU.
If you arrive by train to Busan you do not have to go to Busan station.
You can get off at GUPO station if you want (on the subway line) and head to Dong eui or Somyeon. I do not know which route is faster however.
If your spouse wants to meet you at Busan station then you guys can hop on the subway and head to Nampoodong. That is a cool area as well and it has the big fish market, a Lotte Department store, great food, theatres and a neat outside market. |
