Not even a question here...suwon is MUCH better. Bigger city and close to Seoul. |

Not even close. Suwon; capital of Gyeonggi province and only about 45 minutes to central Seoul (from most parts of the city).

I have family in both Suwon and Cheongju and have even lived in Suwon myself.
My advice? Live in Seoul. |

Ok thanks. I was wondering if Cheong-ju could turn out to be cool, as the job is better. Decisions decisions |

Cheongju is a 1.5 hour bus ride from Gangnam, Seoul. The only reason it could be better than Suwon, aside from a better job, is if you like smaller towns and want easy access to mountains, hiking, nature, etc. |

Suwon would be a better city by far, but it depends on how much better the Cheongju job really is. From what I know, Cheongju has about 700,000 people in it and it's in between Daejeon and Seoul. That means that you'd have a big enough city for kicking around during the week, as well as easy access to some of Korea's main metropolitacn areas for the weekends.
If the job in Suwon is pretty good also, and the job in Cheongju isn;t leaps and bounds ahead of it, I would go with Suwon. |

CheongJu is awesome. It has a great ex-pat community with ex-pat sports teams, and a decent live music scene. There are a number of universities and colleges in and around the city so it has quite a vibrant vibe.
It's easy to get to Seoul and as it's more central it's easy to travel around Korea.
There IS more to Korea than Seoul.

Definitely Suwon.
Loads of public transport options all over the country, some interesting historical stuff, it's accessible to most areas of Seoul in around 30 mins and you're also a stone's throw away from both Songtan and Ansan Station, the two largely unknown restaurant gems of Korea. |

Suwon sounds like a great place but the woman Im talking to about the job is being creepy. She won't give me contact details for anyone at the school except her. Keeps telling me to 'calm down' and so on and keeps asking me over and over when my documents will be ready.
Probably gonna be Cheongju then! |

Definitely sounds like she's covering something up. What you could do, is post both contracts on the contract review thread on the jobs discussion forum. The guys who review them are very good at spotting out red flags and inconsistencies.
You could definitely do a lot worse than Cheongju. From what I've heard, places like Cheongju and Cheonan are big enough. A good job in Cheongju is much better than a crappy job, even in the middle of Seoul. |
