Most of the bars I've been to in this area don't have beer on tap and are pretty expensive, was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to go.

I think it's called 'Under Bar' or 'Under Lounge'.

It's cool, fashionable, but there seems to be a lack of people there every time I go.

tons

just walk around for a few hours....not as good as hongdae however in terms of selection(for western style bars). Konkuk though is still pretty awesome....try to find blind if you can....a restaurant with random meals(pricy though).

Ghost bar is good and cheap....me and other konkuk regulars used to drink there all the time. Small, but awesome....lots of darts!

it's on the same street as the popeyes...just keep walking until you see ghost bar...

Along the way are some other places I haven't tried out, but look awesome.....one underground bar on that same street has about 1500+ vintage LPs.

There is woodstock too.....

I lived there for 2 years....walking around for a few days will do you wonders. It's like hweya or hongdae....just gonna have to walk it to find everything.

Also, try to find these:

Taxi driver's street:best and cheapest food
Gui station: area around it has alot of stuff too
China town: exactly what it sounds like....really poor area, but fun to tool around.

Clothing street: Near the china town....not exactly apgujeong, but there are some vintage stores and the usual fashion brands here.

I miss the hell out of Konkuk. Best kept secret in Seoul for foreigners. Needs some decent clubs and it could compete with Hongdae one day.

I've lived in Guui-yok for 9 months, I had no idea there was a China town near Konkuk, or a clothing street. Never heard of taxi driver's street either. The Woodstock there is kind of lame as they don't have beer on tap and it's expensive. I definitely want to check out this Ghost Bar though, it sounds pretty good.

I didn't find the china town until my last few months after 2 years of living there. Shocked Shocked It's not huge though.

I had a motorcycle and still didn't discover everything.

It's not hongdae, but it has a lot of niches.

Ask any taxi driver for taxi shikdang kil(taxi restaurant street) and you'll be there.

50+ cabs on that street....best food deals around.

Ghost bar is cool...not many chicks, but you can play darts for money...gambling with Koreans is funny.

How far is the taxi street from Guui?

Mad Ghost is decent. Sometimes the staff can be hospitable, and draft is 3000 Won.

Across the street from there is NS525. They have some draft, but I don't remember if it has cheap draft or just Heineken.

The rest of the bars I used to frequent there were either bottles only or shut.

There is no Popeye's in Konkuk, at least not anymore. My co-workers and I have been looking for this "Ghost Bar" the past few times we've been in Konkuk and haven't been able to find it. Haven't seen NS525 either. Are you sure it's still around?

Ghost Bar is still there. So is NS25. The directions the originalposter gave were right. If you walk down the main road a ways towards Childrens Grand Park, it'll be there on the left. I've never actually been there, just see it almost everyday. Maybe I'll check it out tonight.

Dammit the secret is out.

Get ready for all of the drunken weigooks to infest konkuk and turn the place into a dump like Itaewon and Hongdae.

Ugh.

Not really. Konkuk is nothing like Itaewon/Hongdae and will never be, because THERE ARE NO CLUBS OR BARS OF ANY KIND with the exception of a couple Ho Bars (lame + expensive) and the Ghost Bar (I was never able to find it but some friends went and said it was also lame and expensive). The girls at Konkuk are ridiculously hot and love to say "hi" and wave but you quickly realize after trying to initiate a conversation with them that is basically the extent of their English. Not to mention most of them are there with their boyfriends anyway. When you go to Konkuk on a Fri/Sat night it looks like there's a lot going on, but what you see on the streets is basically everything there is to it.

It's never been a secret & there's never been a major foreign invasion. I think you'll probably be OK.

There have been a few clubs in konkuk, but they all die very quick deaths. Club Ghetto was the biggest. I had a few fun nights there.

Too bad, many hotties. There are some lounge/clubs that newly opened up.
