My husband and I have been away from Korea for three months, and we are headed back soon. I have my visa, but when my husband applied at the Canadian consulate there was a message that came up that he had to apply in his own country (America). It was my understanding that when getting a second E2 visa you can get it from any country, not just your home country. Am I wrong? Has anyone else experienced this difficulty? Please share your solutions, because we're running out of time. The consulate said it would be no problem when we put in the application, but now they're screwing us over. |

It really depends on the employer and the consulate. I know that somepeople have gotten their second visa from japan. I also know that some have gotten their first visa from Japan.
I was told that I could apply at one of two consulates
1. In the country where I was a citizen
2. IN the country where I held residency. |

If it's your second visa you can get it anywhere. |

He's a permanent resident of Canada, so that shouldn't be a problem.
We've been back and forth with the consulate, and hopefully we'll have this settled by Tuesday when we fly out. |
