My public school isn't the most organized school in the world, so I have no idea what is taking place during the first week of classes, which is only three days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).
What's going on at your school? |

| I should find out this afternoon. I'm thinking of doing some level testing. Then I want to work more on my "Learning Centers" approach where I split the students up into 3 levels and they rotate around the room every 12 minutes during class. Once with me, once with the CT and once independently. So during the first week I want to teach them the routine for how this will work. It worked ok last semester, but I joined the school after summer vacation. I'm excited to start fresh with a new group. |

| Nothing ever gets done the first week. It's teachers and students getting to know each other, starting the paperwork nightmare that is public education. And all the other balls that have to get rolling. Just go with the flow, and relax. Get some headphones, stay on your computer and if you have an English Room, hide there as much as possible under the pretense of doing PowerPoints or something. |

I'm guessing that I'll be just deskwarming like this week. I'm at my 4th Elementary school and there's never been English classes at any of them for the first week.
Because it's Elementary and we follow the set textbook, apart from 3 lesson plans , theres nothing for me to do. All of my co-teachers have got power-point games and video clips already made up from previous years and to be honest they're better than I could make. |

Sleeping in the nurses office, doing my taxes, MSN some friends and playing some badminton with the ajumas. That's my plan for the first few days unless I hear otherwise. To all you veteran public school teachers enjoy! |

| As with last year, I will be given a regular teaching load. I will do an intro ppt, go over my rules, rewards and punishments, get the students to make name tags for their desks, make a seating chart and then finish the class with some ice-breaker games. |
