Hello,
I am an ESL teacher who has been offered a position with new school. ALL documents have been exchanged but problem is new requirement for FBI CRC. Contract with current school expires 3/1 but new contract starts 3/7 (which I know at this point is impossible). Immigration has granted visa extension until 4/1 but am still required to file "workplace transfer report" no later than March 14.
Here's the problem:
FBI request is being processed as of 2/18 as advised by FBI bureau AND still has to be notarized/apostilled. Likely not to have required FBI CRC by April 1 and certainly not March 14 since it seems that processing will take AT LEAST 8 weeks. Scheduled (originally) to move into new apt by March 5 BUT potential employers are aware of CRC dilemma.
It seems that only option at this point is to return to states upon expiration of current contract before flight reimbursement benefits expire (and DEF. before visa extension expires April 1) to await FBI CRC.
Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated...Thanks! |

I wish I could give you some better news, but your FBI background check + apostille will take about 7 1/2 weeks.
As for Koreans immigrations you may be able to work something out with them. Surely somebody on this site can advise you, |

| I did an extension and transfer earlier this week and I was never asked for my FBI check nor apostilled degree. I don't have either one on file. All I had was my sponsorship letter and school's business registration letter and contract. This was in Suwon. |
