Good luck with that now though, government's supposed to be shutting down at the end of this week. A lot of divisions will stay open, but passport processing is not one of them.

Looks like you got a two-week reprieve; they passed a budget bill that'll give them until March 18th to get their act together. Anyway, I recently had to replace my passport and it took exactly two weeks to be delivered to me. Talk to the embassy about it.

You do realize the Dept. of State website is more useful than anyone on this board right?

And if you sent in your form already, you can only wait. A faster way to get a passport is to set up an appointment at a passport agency office.

Yeah; it's like $300 for a new passport, man ( it also takes forever to get an appt at an agency office).

If its a US passport go to the Embassy. I got mine in 5 business days no expediting fee necessary delivered to me. It cost the normal passport fee and 8k to have it delivered.
