| My uni doesn't do apostilles, I got burned for $175. I really have half a mind to go to China or somewhere and set up my own "FBI check" and apostille service, it's a damn racket anyway! |

I had to get all my stuff Notarized first and yeah the first place I asked said $150 per document which meant $150 for bachelor cert and $150 for my Police background check - $300
I thought, fark this and looked elsewhere
I found a guy who did BOTH documents for $120 - so $60 each. I guess it depends where you go.
after that I got it apostilled and it only cost $60 |

I got mine done at the DFAT in Brisbane, for about $60 each. I only had to get my BA notarised because I was doing it via mail, not in person. If you can get to your uni to get your degree verified, you dont need to get it notarised. Also, I didnt need to get my AFP check notarised.
I got a few things notarised at the same time (not related to a Korean work visa) and was only charged $50; shop around. |

WTF is going on in Australia??
I got both my notarizations for free and one apostille was 20 dollars and the other one was 8 dollars.
That's crazy. |

Do I need to get the AFP notarised at all? I will try my University. I hope they do it for free as checking a document is really easy considering they have the real thing and at most may need to make a phone call to confirm.....sounds like a crime making that much
otherwise I will go into DFAT in city centre for $60 a document lol...
can't believe that $200 one haha! Anybody want to open a company here to check documents go for it as you will make a mint! |

You do need the AFP check apostilled, but you wont need to get it notarised beforehand.
Best to contact them before embarking on any of this. |

cost me a total of 530 dollars to get my federal police record check, notarised and apostilled and then my degree also to get the same treatment.
I guess only having lawyers as public notaries really makes the price jump. |
