mine... suncheon to mokpo W120,000
asked to go to suncheon station and i didnt really understand him when he asked again. i thought he meant... where are you going on the train?
so i said mokpo.. being a drunk and having a hangover i fell asleep straight away. i woke up about 20 minutes later driving down the highway in the country...
i asked him where was he going and he said mokpo... i thought 'fuggen L'
he said it was ok to smoke and i got him to pull into gas station where i bought some beers..
all in all it was a good trip, expensive but good.

That's a good story and I don't think anyone could beat it. I don't think I have every paid more than 20,000 to go all the way across Seoul. It was good of you to be honest and pay for it, but he should have clarified your destination. |

50,000 Won.
I was taking a bus from Daegu to the sticks out west in Gyeongnam, to visit my girlfriend. Prior to getting on the bus, I had scarfed down some bad pasta. So midway through the 2 hour trip, I had to go squat BAD. I negotiated and pleaded for the bus driver to stop and let me off, regardless of the fact that I was in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but rice paddies around me. Fortunately, I held myself together until we saw some signs of civilization and a shanty restaurant. After me bolting to the washroom and watching the bus drive off with everyone staring at me out the windows, it took me about an hour or two to find a lone taxi that was unoccupied. 50,000 Won later, I made it to my girlfriend's town.
I never eat anything for at least an hour, before getting on buses, anymore, and I always visit the busstop washroom before getting on. (plus I even go so far as taking an empty plastic bag and tissue with me, in my knapsack, and sit the furthest away from anyone else. Not like it'll ever happen, but a least I have a worst case scenario for peace of mind. |

50,000 from Shincheon to Hanam is my personal record. I've also done a Hongdae to Anyang trek, but was able to split the cost then. The thing about the Hanam trek (and maybe this happened with the Anyang trip too but I don't remember) was the taxi driver charged me a 20 percent fee for taking me out into the sticks. Oh well. |

40 000 won from masan to Daegu.
Got one of those crazy taxis that hang around the bus or train stations after the last bus so i played them all off against each other and that was the lowest i got one to.
I think it was a good deal. |

My most has been from Seoul to Pupyeong. 30,000 at whatever time in the morning. Only did it once or twice. Three years ago.
Since, the most has been 17,000. |

85,000- hired a taxi to drive us from Jeju-si to Seogwipo (the full length of Jeju, north to south) and back again with a few stops inbetween. Worth it, since the guy was with us for half the day, but I get the feeling I should've set a flat rate instead of going off the meter. |

from what i can gather.... if the taxi goes out of town it becomes a set rate... i have been from mokpo to gwangju and suncheon to gwangju quite a few times in a taxi and thos trips cost around 55,000..
whenever i go to a different city by taxi, the driver pulls out a sheet with (what i gather are) set prices for these trips..
jeju is a different story i spose, never been...

It was very convenient to have the guy waiting for us whenever we'd finished site-seeing, but he drove like a speed-freak with the squits. |
