So every weekend it's always Hongdae, Sinchon, or Kangnam. Hyehwa on occasion. I've heard the Konkuk University area is nice...

Any other suggestions?

Itaewon.

Jongno/Jonggak.

Konkkuk is OK. Slightly larger scale than a place like, say, Nowon station.

Sorry man...you go to those places because those are the places where the nightlife is. There isn't going to be some sort of hidden gem. If there were, it would be dead.

Oh and don't believe the people who will say "Well I know these great places but I don't want to tell everyone because it would spoil the atmosphere." They usually don't know anything that great. I remember once someone was withholding their awesome spot in Gangnam station and I called them out on it being Woodstock. But I suppose for that area, that would be considered quite the place.

If you know where to go/where to avoid, Itaewon can be the best place to go out in Seoul, hands down. Those in the TGFI crowd are in total denial.

Itaewon can be pretty damn fun, especially the alley behind the Hamilton.

Hongdae is still nice even without doing the clubs. In the summer, go to 진짜친구 and get them fried scraaaaaamps and sit outside and drink that 2천원 500시시 오비생맥.

Bupyeong is kind of fun for a change of pace, so is Yeonsinnae.

There's a pretty good restaurant street near Jongno sam ga if you walk out exit 3 at Jonggak station and make a left.

Apujeong/Sinsa/Bundang. You can always hang out in 5-star hotel bars( usually pricey, but nice) .
Kandem also has a relatively new resturant, Ca d'Oro Venice ( great wine selection).

Spoil the atmospere? People usually weed themselves' out pretty quickly.

How do you guys hang out in Hongdae? It's a total sausage fest, like 80/20.

Depends when you go...

I've seen the opposite, closer to 70/30 (in the streets)

Yeah, if you hang out in dumps like Tin Pan. Shop around a bit and you'll find the exact opposite in some very cool spots.

That place is horrific, even if you're just talking about the places that are predominantly Western.

When I was playing the field that place was a dealbreaker. If a girl ever mentioned that she hung out there it was over. Ewww.

The last time I went to Tin Pan, they asked me for proof of age (to make sure I was young enough) and confirmed how I felt about Hongdae; That I'm too old for this sheeit.

I haven't seen an upper age limit since Safari Club in Tijuana. A pretty low one, there. I think it was 25.

What's the upper age limit in that hole Tinpan?

It was 33, which seemed like a fairly arbitrary number. Why not just make it 30? At least I wouldn't have had to go in...
