Hi everyone

I have been offered a job to teach in a Uni in Seoul. Besides I have a family of 3 who go together is fine. But my son's education fee is really high as we all cannot speak Korean. I think at least half of my salary go to my son's education fee.
I wanna know as my wife is an experienced fashion designer as well as a good child play worker, and she can speak fluent English but no first degree. Can she work in Seoul? Is there any job opportunity for her situation? People told me that if you are qualified to teach, even you hold a dependent visa you can change it when you arrive to Seoul. But like my wife's case, is it necessary that she needs to get a work visa before she goes to Seoul? Please advise. Thanks.

Your wife's dependant visa doesn't allow her to work. That's not a new info I guess. What's her nationality?
-If she is holding a passport from one of the "big 7" and has a BA in any field (again from one of the seven countries) she can get an E-2 visa and teach English.
If she is fluent and have the above 2 things, no one will care, she will be considered a native speaker.
-If she doesn't have a passport from "the seven" but having a native language like Spanish, French, Italian ... she might be able to get a job
teaching that language. It's a really small market though and won't be easy to get in. Also, not many of these places are able to sponsor a full-time working visa.
She can try to find a job before coming to Korea or better yet, when already here.
Once she finds a position she could do a visa run to Japan and get the visa.
These were the optimistic cases however. Finding a visa sponsor in the fashion industry... well I don't know much about it but I'm guessing it's close to impossible. Sure, you can try.
She would be able to teach English - not legally - at some part-time gigs here and there. Though this is not recommended as if something happens (she gets caught) you, as her visa sponsor will be also in trouble.
