If you are not too embarrassed to admit that you liked David Cassidy or New Kids on the Block, tell us who your teen idol was...and is there a K-pop idol who reminds you of that person in any way?

I had lots of pop culture crushes and I'm currently reading Allison Pearson's book I Think I Love You. It's about a woman close to me in age who worshipped David Cassidy as a young girl. She will eventually meet him. The closest that I ever got to one of my bubble gum heroes was actually pretty close and quite weird. I was waiting tables at some corporate event and Rick Springfield was the entertainment. As I cleared glasses off of the tables, he was dancing on them and at one point, I turned around and there was his crotch right at eye level just a foot or so away from me.

Wow. A few years back I pulled a hottie at an Epik training camp that you could have sworn was her when she was older and hot.

I had a thing for Diana Ross when I was 8. The music, the woman, a queen or goddess. I idolized her beauty. She was gold to me.

A young Valerie Bertinelli when I was in my teens.

I did too. I was in college at the time.

Shakira most recently in 2006 on her Oral Fixation Tour. A more gorgeous woman in movement I've never seen. At age 29 she was perfect.

(I'm a guy. I never had a thing for guys, didn't understand the infatuation. I never had a fav male rocker or actor. Of course, I admired my dad and he was my idol I guess, from a wanna copy point of view.)

I looked up to Sol Campbell of Tottenham Hotspur when I grew up and then he moved to Arsenal and I wanted to kill Sol Campbell.

I had a newfound respect for her when I learned that she put on a disguise so that she could take a Western Civ class at UCLA unmolested.

My teen dream boy? Two words: Jordan Catalano.
http://bit.ly/8blb1j
I wanted to be like Tragic Kingdom era Gwen Stefani when I was 13.
http://bit.ly/hKkrrF
Though I decided she was a sell out somewhere around 15.

When I was 16 or 17 I developed a massive crush on Gideon Yago.
http://bit.ly/hnulEw This type of hipsterdom hadn't reached my rural Idaho town and he seemed mysterious and Jewish.

On all accounts, their adult personas have been disappointing. Isn't that the point of celebrity idol worship? Perfection? If I wanted chubby abs matched only by bloated egos or racism disguised as fashion, I could make real friends. :/
