Hello,
I wanted to put fellow newbies at ease about the FBI CRC.
On another post I made a somewhat angry statement that I was cheated in that I was not informed about the requirement for a signature and seal in order to get an apostille in California.
Well...I was wrong. I just had my CRC apostilled in Sacramento without the signature and seal so sppearantly it isn't necessary after all. Mind you, it's not a bad idea to request it when you submit your prints, but it wasn't a show-stopper that I didn't have them.
Overall my experience with the CRC was quite painless...about 6 weeks to get it back then notarized, authenticated and apostilled without hassell.
It's funny how silly the system is. With stamps and seals all over the place this document sure seams official. But everyone is simply certifying that I'm certifying that the FBI is certifying that I'm not a criminal. Silly.
By the way, the guy at the CA Dept. of State Notary Department told me that AT LEAST 20 people a day are coming through his door getting the apostille. Wow. Is there really jobs for all of us? This can't go on much longer... |
