Guess what, it happens in Korea too. Except Koreans say it.

"What did you have for lunch?"
"Yuk gae jang."
"Oh, it seems you are already Korean!"

Being called it from Asians isnt that bad as it is like a positive for saying 'thank you for not being so ignorant and understand a few things about our language and culture'......... but here I am constantly getting insulted for it from people who then say I am not Australian. Pretty pissed off as you wouldn't know I speak Chinese if you saw me and I only speak it to friends.

Sorry I am having a bitch about constantly not fitting in here as well as I used to. I cant get used to the drinking culture back here of get smashed and make an idiot of yourself.

Nothing wrong with Australians, mate. After all, their ancestors were hand picked by Great Britain's best judges.

Good luck.

Brissy is hardly the most open-minded city in Australia, even though I'm sure things are getting better.

On a recent trip home, I noticed that my hometown is basically FULL of Asians, mostly Chinese and Indians. Perhaps white Australians are getting sick of it and the last thing they want to see is a white guy speaking Chinese, with Chinese people.

Interestingly I read that if the current immigration rates continue, Chinese and Indians will be the dominant race in Australia.

What I am not insulted because of what place or Country they say but because they say it as though there is something wrong with me as though it is 'unaustralian' and look down on me.

I couldn't imagine being called Russian is a bad thing just like when I came back from Asia I had no tan so people called me polish or finish. I wasn't insulted because I actually looked polish at the time but I am not talking about appearance here.

A racist Australian? Well I never! I'm only half-Asian and I have reservations about going to Australia. Every Asian I've ever met who's lived there says they had to deal with the witty "Chink" remarks on a regular basis.
Australia seems like it would be a lovely place if there weren't so many Australian people there. Laughing (I know you're not all racist morons).

Don't worry mate, wait about 15 years and you'll be in the majority and us whitey racist morons will be begging for forgiveness from our Asian masters.

I have heard before that Australians are intensely racist against Asians.

I'm from the US and when I was younger I got made fun of for having a lot of friends or being interested in Asian things (NOT Japanese manga/anime or J-Pop/K-Pop), but it didn't really bother me because I wasn't insecure about it. At my age now most people are just jealous of my international experience and language skills.

I think Asians are intensely racist, and not just against whites; everyone can be racist. It's just fashionable to call Aussies racist as we have a dodgy history based on killing the local black population and a "white Australia" policy.

Here's some classic quotes from so-called high level Asian politicians and a prominent Sri Lankan cricket captain,

One of the barriers to Australia bringing the region together is that Asians view Australians in quite a negative way. The general consensus is that Australians are lazy, uncultured, unrefined, ill-mannered, have poor sexual morality, and have nothing to offer except a good welfare system. The ridicule that is expressed at a community level is also expressed at a political level. For example, after an encounter with protesters, ex-Singapore prime minister Lee Kuan Yew said:

Australians are the poor white trash of Asia.

Likewise, after an unsavoury encounter with Australias prime minister Paul Keating, the Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamed, said:

"We can't do anything. If people have no manners, I mean children we can smack them [laughs] I think that a whole nation, or there generally is one nation who have no manners. It's very difficult, who resort to personal vilification and all that"
It is not only politics where friction has been felt. After an encounter with the Australian cricket team, Sri Lankan cricket captain Ajuna Rantaunga,

"We come from 2,500 years of culture and we all know where they come from".

Considering the demographic changes in recent years, and the fact that proprty laws has enabled rich (mainly Chinese) to buy up big in the Australian property market, I think Australians are VERY tolerant people; maybe a bit rough around the edges though.
