Just curious because my friend who works for CDI has to work today. For those that don't know today is a national holiday in Korea.

If so who's making you work?

Uncommon. Just certain CDI branches and other rogue hagwons I am sure. He's probably paid hourly. A lot of hourly workers back home work on holidays too.

I don't know any school public or private that makes you work on a Korean national holiday. That's so uncool.

Enjoy your day off!

Just about the only hagwan that is open is CDI and they are notorious for making staff work on red days (without extra compensation as required by law; dig out the thread on their current legal problems after being sued by staff).

Public schools, universities, private schools, international schools and the vast majority of hagwans are closed today.

Glad I don't work for CDI. I'm enjoying this day off...watching some hockey right now and going for Indian food later today.
