I think I am headed to Icheon to teach.

Where is the best place to shop for food in Icheon? Is there a nice cafe? Can you buy size 14 to 16 clothes at Home Plus or Emart. Has anyone seen large size tights there?

Any useful info about living in Icheon would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There are a bunch of places with similiar names. Are you talking about Incheon or a place near Suwon or a place near Yongsan?

It is not the airport city. It is the ceramic city.

I've been to Icheon a few times. If you find clothing in that size range, you will be very very lucky. Grocery stores and markets won't be a problem but the selection of western foods may be limited. However, it isn't difficult to get to Seoul from there, so you can probably shop at the foreigner markets and such when you really need a fix of some kind of comfort food from home.

You answered your own question on Incheon. The area in Yongsan-gu is called Ichon-dong (이촌). The OP lives in Icheon-si (이천), which is also home to what Koreans believe to be some of the finest rice in the country.

As for the OP, I don't believe there is a Homeplus or E-mart in the city. You'll likely be heading to Seoul, which isn't too far. Bundang is also relatively close.

You'd be surprised at how many people can't tell the difference. There's even been a couple of people show up in Icheon expecting to be in one of the the other two. Rolling Eyes I really can't work out how someone can be so stupid to not do the proper research on where they're going to be living.

There is an E-mart, but no Homeplus. From my experience, it's easier going to Seoul than Bundang for Homeplus, etc.
