The following was written by my coworker. I'm the "foreign colleague" he speaks of, and have basically the same questions.
----------------------------------------------
Hi Im wondering if anyone can help me out there, or if someone has experience with a situation like this? I have just handed in my letter of resignation after a very turbulent few months with my new boss, that came to a head during a clear the air meeting with head management recently. I feel my working conditions have deteriorated significantly, and my relationship with my boss has gone beyond the point of repair. Interestingly, my foreign colleague has also tendered his resignation, and two Koreans have quit or are in the process of leaving within the past 3 weeks.
I am talking to recruiters about a new job but my position is almost unique. I have already had one visa alteration made to my E-2 because the school changed ownership soon after arriving. Immigration told me at the time (December 2010) that one visa alteration is allowed per visa, no more.
My recruiter has told me to visa hop to Japan but I have been told by another recruiter that this can take up to 3 months, as each case is examined on a first come first serve basis, and there is always a backlog of applicants.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
