I'm looking for a smartphone with a qwerty keyboard, preferably an Android. I've seen the LG Optimus Q on LG telecom, but it seems it's only running Android 1.5. I haven't seen anything else in store windows, apart from an ugly Motorola, which I'm not sure was even an Android phone. I have an F2 visa, and would like to spend no more than W60,000 a month. The phone would be used 50/50 for business/pleasure. I don't care about the network, although I'm on KT at the moment if that helps. I live on Jeju. |

I've seen an LG model that has a slide out QWERTY, but I honestly think the motorola is a bit better. You would be able to get better support for the LG model, and the LG model is a bit cheaper. I don't know any of the specs on either model so I can't really help you out anymore than to say they exist, you just gotta find them. |

BEST Android phone w/ a qwerty is the Droid 2. However, its not available in Korea (as far as I know). You could buy one outright and bring it here (expensive) or go another way. Not sure if it's the phone that you saw, but the only android phone I know of that's any good in Korea is the Droid 1 (known as the Motorola Qwerty here). It runs Android 2.2 (or at least the US version does). That's probably your best bet if you need a physical qwerty. |
