Hi, Ive beem a member of this board for a while now but I have finally made the journey and am now in Korea !! I am in Changwon...close to Busan, and tho I initially wanted to be around the Seoul Metro area....I am really enjoying Changwon and all that I am discovering.
I start my first official classes tomorrow but spent the day at school Friday and met most of the children I will be working with. Im excited. I really like the school and the Korean co-teachers are very friendly. My English co-worker has been unbelievably wonderful in helpng to get me settled into my apartment, school and just general things like shopping.
I just wanted to say....I DID IT !! |

Haha After that horrible plane ride .... I dont wanna fly for quite a while !!
Thats actually a good suggestion for you Canonite, BEG BEG BEG BEG your recruiter to get you a window seat !!!
I was in the middle seat of 3 between 2 guys. Even tho they were super friendly...I swear I almost broke down and cried before we were half way thru because I was so exhausted and couldnt get comfortable enough to sleep on the flight. |

Thanks for the tip, but I'll get to buy my own ticket and then I get paid back for it, so definitely going with a window seat! Haven't been on a flight that long since I was 12, so it should be fun I'll definitely keep in touch and looking forward to your updates in the meantime |

Congrats! My husband and I just moved to Masan, which isn't that far away from you. This is our second year, so if you have any questions or want to hang out, let me know! We don't know anyone in Masan/Changwon/Jinhae yet, as we lived in Daejeon last year, so I'd love to get to know some ppl in the area. Send me a PM if you're interested in hanging out. |

Zifa: I hear there is a bar/pub ( in Changwon ) where locals hang out especially on Tuesdays...for Taco-Tuesdays. Might be a great way to meet other FTs. I havent been yet but hoping to go next time. Im not into the club kinda scene but to meet some others it might be fun.
Will definately be in touch Yellodove. FaceBook me if ya want !! ( Dawni Martinez ) |

Lost: Thanx !! Im pretty much an exthusiastic kinda person and probably to daYum perky for many haha But its ok...it gets me thru life.
I live in Daebong-dong too. Tiny older apartment tho. Wouldve loved to have been in one of the highrises. But its quaint and the utilities are wickedly low from what Ive been told by my co-teacher. From what shes said, I should expect my utilities to run around $60 a month including cable and internet. Awesome !!
Will look you up on FB soon, take care. |
