|
|
My contract and visa end on the 30th of April, I will head home for a few weeks and then come back to teach. I am wondering if I can transfer my existing E-2 visa to my new job even though I have a break between. Is this possible? I know that I will have to get a visa extension as my flight leaves after the 30th, to get that I need a flight ticket and my waeguk card, is that correct?
thanks in advance for any help. |

In order to transfer you need to have the paperwork completed BEFORE your ARC expires AND there can not be more than 30 days between contracts.
You CANNOT do a transfer if you are on the "free" touristic extension offered at the end of contracts.
If your contract and ARC expire at the same time your window is SMALL. You must complete the paperwork during your last week of employment AND since you are still under contract you will need a LOR.

You can, but it depends on how nice your future school is.
I managed to go home for a few weeks between jobs and I transfered my visa. My new school just said I started a month before I actually did. A little sketchy, and I'll have to extend my visa at the end of my contract to get a full year in, but it worked. |

thanks for the words of advice, my new job starts on the 23rd of May. So it seems everything should be okay about transferring the visa over as long as I have the documents. |
