Hi all,
I am coming to Korea on a tourist visa but will have to do a visa run to Japan. Do I need to get a multiple entry visa and if so how much does it cost?
Thanks ahead of time for your reply.

Not enough information to give you an accurate answer so you will get some if/then answers.
First - there are no multi-entry tourist visas (or any tourist visa) for anyone coming from a country that qualifies for an E2 (with the exception of South Africa).
You enter on a restricted visa waiver stamp (30 days (South Africa) to 6 months (Canada) depending on your country of origin).
If you have not had a previous E2 you won't be doing a visa run to Japan. You will be doing a visa run to your home country (consular interview requirement) and be aware that your school WON'T pay for your airfare AND your visa run if you have to go home for it.
If you are from the states you can do your visa run to Guam.
IF you were talking about getting a multi-entry E2; there aren't any. All E2s enter on their visa and then get their ARC. ALL registered (have an ARC) foreigners are entitled to unrestricted entry/exit privileges as long as their ARC is valid.

Guam isn't much more expensive to get to than Japan, and is often cheaper, so it's possible that a school would pay a visa run plus airfare if that were your destination. |

Only an option if the op is American and I suspect he is not.
