I know this is probably on another thread, however, I can't seem to find the right one with the exact info I need. I have both a 3GS and a 4. I heard that the 4 (because of the small sim card) is really hard to use in Korea. I also don't want to alter the 4. So I am going to bring the 3GS to Korea, what do I need to do and where do I do it! A lot of the websites for jailbreaking seem shady. Also, what do I do when I get there to get it set up? I know some of the applications won't work (that's about it!). I really appreciate any help!!!!!!!

Trouble working because of the small sim card?

That's 100% wrong. KT also has the "small sim cards" that you can use on your iPhone 4.

You won't be "altering" the phones in any way, you just get them unlocked, not jailbroken. All that does is allow the Korean carriers to use them on a Korean network. Once that's done, you can easily have your iPhone setup.

Thank you Drew10. Do you know that best way to get it unlocked? I'm sorry, I am just new to this and nervous about doing it without myself when I have no experience in this area. I appreciate anyone's help!

Usually your carrier will have to unlock it before you bring it to Korea. Once it's in Korea I have no idea how to unlock it without jailbreaking. I'm told you can contact your prior carier and request an unlock through them YMMV.
