Hi there,
I hope this is in the correct section, as in order to work in Korea I need to obtain a medical.
I have all my documents, a job contract and am just waiting now for my visa to be processed. I am not going to lie, I have smoked some marijuana in late January after visiting Amsterdam. I am however not worried about this as I haven't touched any since, it was purely a holiday thing.
What I am however concerned about is on Saturday I went out in London for a friends birthday. One of my closest friends put what I believe to be ecstasy in my drink. The worst thing was the next morning after I quizzed him about it he admitted that he put another one later. ( We were out till 10am). I was absolutely furious with him and after I explained Iam going to have a drug test for this job he soon changed his tone....
I have been out running everyday and going to the sauna to try and "flush whatever is in me out". I have no idea if this will even work but I feel its best to try.
Does anyone know what the protocol for the drug test is? I have done some research and providing they dont use a hair folicle test I should be OK. Please can someone tell me that their medical was a blood/urine test only! I can very worried about this now as I have just read that Korea would have the right to "detain" me if I were to fail. I don't think its worth trying to explain the situation to them, as I am sure they will assume I am lying.......
Please could you let me know what type of drug test they subjected you to.
(I hate my friend)... |

You dont have much to worry about as long as 'your friend' doesnt dose you again before you leave for korea.
The medical (drug) test consists of a blood and urine test. You dont do the test until after you arrive in korea. You have up to 90 days after you arrive to complete the health testing and submit the results to immigration to receive your Alien Registration Card.
Your school will likely want it done in the first week or two after you arrive, but they may not push you to do it that early. You will be expected to do the test when your schools asks you so dont try to stall. If your school doesnt get on your case about completing the test, then its up to you to make sure it gets done and submitted within 90 days or your visa is void.
Although your school may not push you to have the test done quickly, you, however, will want to get it done quickly so that you can get a cellphone, open a bank account, etc. It normally takes one to five days to get the results from the tests. |

The amount of time it stays in your system also can depend on if it was laced with something. Most street doses of Molly are not pure. It could have had other narcotics/substances in it. If I were you, I might purchase a drug test to do at home or if you have insurance, ask your Dr. to test you, just to be sure... |

Lol- thats why I am not going to try and explain it beforehand. If you dont believe me then I am sure the Korean authorities wont either. As If I would volountarily take the stuff knowing I am to go to Korea within 3 weeks?!
But anyway, thanks for the reply. I am entirely releived to find out that they only take a blood/urine test. In 3 weeks I should have everything out of my system.
I will do the test as soon as I get there to avoid problems with bank/phones.
Thanks for the input! (all) |
