Hey.

I've been in Korea for three years and signed on for a fourth. This year a teacher was dropped due to budget cuts, and I was promised that I'd keep fifth grade in my schedule.

A month later, fifth grade was scrapped to hire 2 KETs (one of whom doesn't speak English) and my main co-teacher can't decide what she wants to do for class. I mean every class, she is changing her mind. Whatever, I think- she is super sweet and very accommodating if I have a need outside of school (hospital visit/vacation, etc). But this is driving me up the wall- I hate the new book- and don't see a point in tearing out the cards in the back for a five minute game which slows me down, then hear complaints that the activity I decided on is taking too long.

Anyway, this is my rant for my huge err in re-signing at this school when I should have let my contract expire.

I guess the good thing is she cares enough to be annoying about it though.

Maybe just ask her, "What would you like to do?" Sit back stress free until she formulates her own plan. Keep a contingency of activities for if/when you need them.

I think after re-signing it's normal to have the new year's dread. At least I always do, and it sounds like you got it too. Luckily mine always smooths out after the hump of first semester. Hump of course being the period of time, not extracurricular activity.

ha! cheers on the truth guys.

You are correct- after a month or so everything should fix itsself. But this month is taking so F*'in long.

Worse yet, my attitude of "Let me try and teach something" is slowly going down the drain. My attitude now is "screw this. Do what she wants and don't complain". Laughing

I am so outta here next year. But the sad part is, I may come back!
