|
|
To make a long story short, when I went to the hospital last year for appendicitis the nurse took my insurance card to help walk me through the payments, and with one thing and another, I just now realized I never got it back.
Does anyone know how I can initiate getting a replacement?
If there's a way to do it that doesn't involve "ask a co-teacher" (there are no, repeat NO English speakers at our school... all negotiations are carried out through our bosses 14 year old daughter who lives in a different city) that would be awesome.
thnx guys |

You dont really need a replacement. It is tied to your ARC. All you need to do is give your Alien Registration number when you visit the doctor/dentist/etc. They will check the number and determine that you are insured.
If you really think you need to have a new card, call 02-390-2000. It's the English help line at NHIC. |

thanks, oculisorbis. That's wierd... i tried that bit with giving my ARC number the last time I went to the dentist, and they told me that the couldn't use it because they couldn't figure out the koreanized version of my name they used (I can see how "cheryl" would be a bit difficult to write in korean!) Maybe its because it was a private clinic and didn't have a direct feed into the government system?
Anyways, thanks for the number, I'll be calling it soon. |

They should still have access. What's the validity of your old card?? I get a new one sent to me every month (granted overkill) but you might be due for another. Anyhow like the previous poster said just call them up give your name and ARC number on the English helpline and they'll send a new one. No dramas. |
