|
|
| Its official: Korea has given me a disease contact dermatitis on my forearms. I know where I got it, too: the worn-down pads at the chest fly machine at the gym. I have yet to see anyone wipe down a bench or a machine after they use it here in Korea. Im thinking of bringing my own spray bottle with disinfectant (gyms back home came equipped with these, but zero here) or disinfectant wipes to the gym. Gotta be careful or else it may be the flesh-eating kind next. Do they have disinfectant sprays available at your gym here in SK? I guess kimchi either makes you immune, your sweat anti-bacterial, or both. |

| Just wipe down the machine before and after you use it. A bit of a gripe of mine but I always do that now. |

I've always been wiping them down with the free towels they provide at my gym, but I'm in the minority with possibly hundreds using the machines before me. Wiping down with a towel visibly gets rid of the sweat left behind, but it probably winds up spreading the bacteria around. |

I have seen it recommended that you get Hepatitis A & B vaccinations if going to Korea. I was planning on doing it (I'm arriving in Korea in about 2 weeks), but found out that it's a 6 month process. Any thoughts on this? Is it easy to find Hep A & B vaccinations in Korea?
Any information will be greatly appreciated! |

Yes, they have Hep A & B vaccinations in Korea. Any hospital will have them. And you should get them anyway, even if you don't go to Korea. |

I don't know about Hep B, but with Hep A if you get the vaccine now you'll be more or less protected by the time you get to Korea, and fully protected within a month. You'll just need to get your second round within a year, after which you'll be inoculated for life. |

I considered that, but the problem is that any doctor where I am wants to charge for the entire treatment upfront, and each one is well over $100. I think I'll just get the vaccine as soon as possible after arriving, hopefully when I go in for the standard health check. |

My kindy class gave me ADHD but it only flares up during their class.
My ex-boss gave me alcoholism but I've overcome it and am symptom free now.
I've a coworker with cyclothymia but I avoid him and haven't contracted it yet.
