Over the years, with both in-service teachers and also M.S. and H.S. students - I've had a lot of success with using public speaking as a "method" of language teaching.

I saw a lot of students really get empowered and acquire language effectively as they sought to "communicate". It doesn't have a lot of the traditional "ambiguity" of regular language learning and is a nice compliment that also teaches a very valuable skill beyond "English".

Has anyone else had success?

I've made a book out of the course materials I've honed over the years. Nothing fancy but links to lots of amazing multi media material included. Fully developed course that would be great for camp or universities. Let me know what you think - http://bit.ly/hQNZci More details on the purchase page http://tinypay.me/~6W6Fxrd

Part of my own effort to raise income to support our community and also thumb my nose at the traditional publishing world (through disruptive technology).

Cheers,

DD

Update:

Please visit EFL Classroom and get the book free for the next 24 hours. Just find it on the main page.

Appreciate any thoughts about this kind of course.

Cheers,
