Hey I bought a Moto Droid 1 from Verizon in America before coming here and I was wondering it it would be possible to use it here in Korea on a korean carrier. I heard they recently changed the rule so now someone can use American phone here, I was just wondering if anyone had done that with a Verizon droid yet.

Any help would be great as I would love to get this thing working here!

Even if it wasn't done, it's not hard to do. Where in Korea are you located?

So my Verizon Droid X can be used with a Korean carrier? Verizon prices overseas are insane.

Is the phone quad band? Can it support GSM and CDMA networks?

I don't think the droid one is quad band, but I think it can technically work here, I just wonder if I brought it to a store if they could activate it.

Has anyone done this? Is there a SK, I believe, store that has english service?

The Verizon network is CDMA, so my Verizon Droid X supports CDMA. Can I just show up and get it activated?

As long as your phone has a sim card it can be activated here in Korea. I just attempted to activate a Verizon HTC Eris and was not able to due to the lack of a sim card on the device.
