I've flown this budget airliner and I've had few complaints save one flight that arrived in Manila 40 minutes late.
The thing you must remember is, however, that the bargain tickets you get on this airliner are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE PERIOD! The only thing you can do is to do change dates and that will incur additional fees PLUS the difference in ticket prices should the new date be more expensive.
I have a friend who bought eight bargain tickets to Manila via Cebu Pacific and then the relatives he wanted to take all said they couldn't go. He's screwed. |

You should change the title of the thread to 'Beware of Relatives'. It seems that they were the ones that caused the problem for your friend. Cebu Pacific is very clear about their cancellation/refund/transfer policies. They are a budget airline. When they can offer tickets for 1/3 the price of other airlines, expect the occasional inconvenience. |

Dude, most airlines only issue non-refundable and non-transferable tickets. Especially low-cost airlines. |

the one time I went with Cebu Pacific I ended up with massive ear problems because of the absolutely insane fluctuations of air pressure in the cabin. My friend also had the same problem. I was practically deaf for a solid week. |

I believe you CAN get a refund from most airlines that are not budget though you'll have to pay a penalty. |

Yep. You can get good fares by booking ahead, but you gotta use or lose. |

I had that happen to me on Cathay Pacific. I got a swollen inner ear drum. Some meds and chewing gum cleared it up. Never on Cebu, flying with them 6 times internationally and 1 time domestic.
If someone complains about it being late, one of the groups of either passengers in the 'chain' caused it to be late.
1. Passengers boarding from Cebu/Manila (3:50 or so) or the tarmack getting backed up.
2. Passengers getting off in Incheon. (8:30 or so) once again, the tarmack can be crowded.
3. Ground staff prepping the plane in Incheon.
4. Passengers getting onto the plane in Incheon (9:35)
If any of these times are delayed, it is nearly impossible to make up the time.

It is kind of the way that most budget airlines work, it's a hassle but then again you're saving heaps by flying with them. Your friend should have really had things sorted with his relatives, maybe they should be the ones refunding him.
I've flown Cebu both on International and internal flights, They've always been good, actually better than I expected for the price. For instance most budget airlines really 'jack up' the prices of food and drinks but the prices they charge are very reasonable. Also, it's easy to pre-book which seat you want, again cheap. I'd fly with them again, anytime. |

I have some minor annoyances with them, but it is good value for your money.
I wanted to book the front seats of the plane, but they said I couldn't because we have a young child. In case of emergency, they can not have a child there. They also said that the people sitting there must be competent at understanding English. Once again, for emergency purposes.
Last flight I got on, there was a noisy Korean family sitting at the front with 2 small children. I doubt they could speak Engish well, but I could be wrong about that. |

I just returned from the Philippines on CP, and I can't complain at all. Of course it is very "no frills," but you have to expect that for the price. How else are you gonna fly round-trip for 300,000 when you only book 2 weeks in advance?
In fact, there were other perks which I really liked. Many of the flights are unfilled, so they let you move around to other seats. The entire aisle across from me was empty on the way there, so I moved and laid down across the 3 seats and slept. On my return flight, everyone had boarded early, so they went ahead and took off. My flight arrived in Busan 40 minutes ahead of schedule. In all my years of flying, that has never happened. I also found it very easy to change my flight on their website when I decided to stay an additional 3 days. |

300,000? You can get a lot cheaper than that if you watch the site frequently.

I love Cebu Pacific. We flew to Cebu from Busan for 100.000 KRW round trip. They even gave us a seat for my infant son without charging. If you can put up with them leaving late and know that you are not going to change your tickets, you can't beat them. |
