I've been in Korea for about a year and have been learning Korean along the way. I've spent my free time programming an app to help myself learn all the different forms and patterns in the language.
The app is designed for people that will spend at least a year here and may have interest in learning the language, as opposed to the tourist crowd. The basic idea is to have a word bank ~800 words which can be toggled and fitted together to form a sentence. For instance verbs can be adjusted for tenses/honorifics/politeness/formality, nouns for topic/subject/location markers, etc.
The app also provides on the fly translation of time and numbers (with a bunch of common counters), text-to-speech, and saving built phrases.
I'd appreciate it if anybody would give it a whirl and provide some feedback. I'm continually updating the phrasebook, so suggestions on useful expressions in daily life would be great.
Anyway, here'a a screenshot/instructions:

I think it's great that you've done this!
Unfortunately for me, I only have a iPhone....
Good luck with your app and your studies |
