Strange question...and not sure this is the right forum, but is there still ferry service between Busan and Fukoka? I can't seem to find any current information.

(Not sure if this should be here or in the "travel" topic!)

Yeah, but with all that is going on in Japan right now, is it still running?

I can't say from personal experience, but why wouldn't it be? As far as I know, the carnage is a long way from Fukuoka. Maybe I'm wrong.

I took it two weeks ago, spent a week in the Kyushu province. There are two boat services, one's an overnight ferry (overnight on the way there, unfortunately it's during the day on the way back) that costs about 190,000 won (ticket and taxes here and there) for a round trip ticket. The other option is the hydrofoil service, which only takes 3 hours, but costs more (not sure of the price as I didn't use that option).

There are lots of willing couchsurf hosts in and around Fukuoka too, so if you send out a few messages you won't have to pay for any lodging (saved me a boatload of money).
