My recruiter asks me daily via email where my documents for my visa are. I have kept her apprised of every minuscule step of me working through obtaining the documents for my visa. I always respond within a few hours, but this only led to more inquiries. So I took 24 hours, this incited a near freak out email explaining how urgent these updates were.

When I interviewed initially, I was completely upfront when I said I didn't have ANY part of the visa process started. Once I discussed with the recruiter and could tell that I had some prospects, I immediately requested my CBC. Now I'm waiting for the CBC to be returned with the apostille. I have been extremely polite and patient with the daily email inquiry. Tonight she decided to escalate to voicemails, stating the that director is asking her about my documents and it was very important I let her know the status. I have cut and paste verbatim the timeframes on the FBI and Dept of State websites outlining timeframes. I have turned everything around literally as fast as I can, but still I'm asked daily where things are. Even when I say "the website takes 5 business days" I am asked for a status the very next business day.

Is this a sign that I don't want to work at this location? If they are so impatient and overbearing about something that is completely outside of my control, I have to wonder what will happen when I make a tiny mistake that was within my control?

This just seems rather ridiculous to me.

Nah, it's just been SOP until now to gather all your docs before contacting them. I guess the CBC issue is changing that (for Americans, anyway).

I found this with mainly guy recruiters.

They seem like they are trying to just get a crappy job no one wants out the door to the unsuspecting newbie like I was. I started to realise you have control once documents have arrived back and are ready. Almost like the recruiter gives you a sense of respect. I was in a complete rush to get a job because my girlfriend is in Korea but I can tell you I still turned down 4-5 jobs within 1 week after I had every document ready and that was only last week.

The better recruiters post you jobs which you may want in areas, age of students and starting dates you asked for and inform you that they will post your resume to the school and organise an interview.

You should have heaps of recruiters as they only pass on your information to the school which is the one who hires you. If a recruiter is trying to sell a position fast without even an interview it means something bad I would think.

I had a recruiter who said I have the job. Yet I never ever said I want even an interview or consideration for that job.

He then went on to send 3 emails and called me constantly about this job in Yongin! His last email went like this.

"Where are you the school wants you for the position. They ask how well you speak Chinese and what is your favourite sport?" bit off topic right? lol

Needless to say I didn't respond because I sent an email asking for a job in jamshil as an elementary english teacher and he responded with me getting a job in Yongin just because I told him my documents are ready he tried to sell a crappy job on the outskirts of a town which I didn't want to be in.

Heaps of recruiters I found acted like idiots!

That's recruiters for you, they don't care where you go, as long as they plug you into some job, any job as fast as possible.
