I'm currently being considered for a teaching position at Pagoda Academy, and graduate from my American university this spring (May 14th). They would like me to start teaching on July 1st, but diplomas will not be printed until August, and my official transcript will not reflect that I have graduated until about a month after my graduation.
Apparently I need two apostille copies of my degree to apply for the visa. I'm not sure how much leeway the immigration office is willing to give, but I imagine this issue is not unheard of. Neither my school nor the Korean Consulate has any information about whether or not any alternative documents (such as an official intent to graduate form or something) will work.
Does anyone have any experience with this or know of any steps I can take to start the visa process in time? |

It happens all the time.
K-immigration will NOT issue a visa confirmation number without the copy of your parchment with the apostille attached. They also require the FBI background check with an apositlle PRIOR to issuance of the confirmation number. You can't get your visa without it.
There is NO work-around.
Your choices are:
a) fly to Korea, work illegally until you can get the documents and then fly to Guam for your visa run and consular interview. (not recommended)
b) wait till you have all your documents in hand and get your visa then come to work legally.
