First, let me make this absolutely clear. I do not take steroids. Nor have I ever taken steroids. Nor do I ever plan on taking steroids. I ask this simply from pure curiosity.
I have noticed some big foreigners here. Not just the fat-big ones too. I've seen a few teachers a bit more muscular than I think can be achieved naturally. And I work out, and I have heard tales that "juice" used to be available in certain parts of the city if you knew where to look for it.
So, it got me to wondering if these guys are hooking up here or in their home country? And if they're doing it at home, wouldn't it show up when they do their E2 visa drug test? |

The E2 drug screen does not currently test for anabolic steroids.

Steroids are hard to obtain here. Believe me I've looked. I think it's because there is a lack of a bodybuilding poerlifting and other strength sport community.
I'm not sure about Korean law but steroids are legal to possess in many countries such as the United Kingdom and Canada to say nothing else of the countries where most foreigners in Korea come from--china Bangladesh the philippines Vietnam and Indonesia. The laws are even less restricted in those countries and one can buy them without even a prescription
Sorry to shock you but all of your favorite pro athletes use steroids. Just because they didn't test positive doesn't mean they don't take them. Even if there was an e2 visa multiple thousand dollar wasteful steroid test basically any idiot could utilize certain methods of avoiding detection.
My impression is that the drug test is imposed to indicate if people are on addictive psychoactive substances (other than alcohol and tobacco) not non addictive non psychoactive substances used for self improvement in the right contexts. Certainly not substances that are unscheduled as recreational drugs and fall under the same legal category as all other prescription drugs. It would be nearly impossible to test off label use of unscheduled prescription drugs since their number is in the hundreds of thousands. |
