Read it for yourself.

Let me explain why this is just so wrong. If a Korean newspaper had said the same things, been so dimissive of teachers, and had used that kind of grotesque illustration, many would be critical of it. Why then does a magazine that is supposed to exist to help foreigners in Korea show such negativity towards teachers under the guise of "humor"? Foreign teachers don't deserve to be treated like this by any media source, especially not one created and run by fellow waygookins in Korea. We're supposed to be 10 Magazine's customers, not their targets.

well, the newspapers reach a national, Korean audience. this 10 magazine is just a rag you glance at in some random bar in itaewon while wiating for your friends to show up.

it's too small scale and of too little consequence to anyone. think of it as your university's humor newspaper. little distribution, published once a month or less. then you had the normal campus newspaper which was weekly and mattered a little more but not all that much - that would be the herald and times.

Not inaccurate. I was one of them just a year ago. Now, I feel like an upperclassmen noticing the flocks of freshmen arriving on campus.

Baffling that someone one could be offended by that. Absolutely baffling.

The writer should follow his own advice

Yes- people will act silly. Get on Dave's and fire away like everyone else or move on.

As someone who experienced most of that in my first year I don't see how this is offensive. Seems like pretty good advice to me.

It didn't seem like advice to me. More so it seemed like they were saying, "Problem? STFU, newb!" It wasn't very friendly at all.

I think the problem with this article is that it reeks of elitism. Maybe for the writer who has been here for 10 years this is all old hat, but the new folks deserve a chance to be mystified and confused. It's part of the process. It can't be helped.

Certainly not deserving of a 'Like' status on FB, it wasn't that impressive nor harmful.

Nothing to see here. Seems like the author ripped it from his blog after getting writer's block...

Again, Al Bundy is right. I didn't read anything offending here. I feel like I usually land on the apologist side. But I don't think anything in here is offensive towards Koreans or NETs. I think most new teachers can benefit from advice from experienced expats.
