For some reason they never bothered me, but after seeing so many this weekend, they really do.

It feels like that Southpark episode where the homeless are invading.

Go away hipsters, I don't like you.

There are too many hipster-haters. Their "I'm more ironic than you" attitude may be supremely irritating, but I don't feel the need to whine about it on a regular basis. At least hipsters' high-mockability factor makes them great fun at parties.

All those skinny, sexually ambiguous kids you see wandering around nowadays with their unflattering greasy haircuts and distasteful clothing.

Get off my dang lawn.

There's a fairly popular song on Youtube about hipsters that sums them up very well. Search for 'Grand Spectacular'.

Meh... 90% of pop culture phenomena is phony anyway.

And they'll find plenty of other superficial, inauthentic young people to bond with in Korea.

Nah they'll get frustrated with Korean youth because none of them know the bands __________ or ______________.

My first thread about them is now a 'regular basis'?

Cool.

Hating hipsters is so mainstream now.

In Vancouver, I've seen these kids around for years. Never knew that they were called "Hipsters".

I thought Jack Kerouac and gang were referred to as "Hipsters"?

They were indeed hipsters.....that's when the word meant being 'new' and 'cool' and experimental............but the hipsters today are just lame rejectionists.

I've got nothing against the hipsters... would much rather spend time with them over those Ed Hardy wearing douchebags

Surprisingly, I've heard guys, mainly Canadians and Americans, use this word a lot in the last year. I've never heard people use it like that until recently.

When did it enter the lexicon as slang for asshole?
