I'm coming next week and wondered if anyone can tell me, should I try bring my guitar on the plane, or will I be able to buy a nylon stringed guitar over there? Its only for myself so doesnt need to be great quality - just enough to keep practising on for a year! Cheers dudes x |

I wouldn't bring it on the plane, the extra charges for it will be insane.
Keep your eye on craigslist Seoul. They have guitars on there all the time from people who are leaving Seoul.
Found one on there, nice one for like 60k WON.
I don't know if a Nylon one is special from a regular guitar... I don't know much about music. But if your just looking for a standard guitar, I would buy one here and then sell it when you're ready to leave. |

I second deekman's advice. Decent guitars (local brands) can be found for a very good price. They may not wow you, but they're definitely serviceable. I've had two here, a six and twelve string. No complaints. I've found the name brands like Epiphone or Washburn to be more expensive here, which is kind of ironic since they're made in Korea. A friend of mine went to the Gretsch factory in Seoul and picked up a slick acoustic for a fraction of the retail price. Kind of one of those in right place at the right time kind of deals. |
