Routine civil defense training is scheduled to be held nationwide on March 15th. Drills are held on the 15th of each month, except for the months of Jan., Feb., July, and Dec.

Safety training will start at 2 p.m. and will run for approximately 20 minutes. At the sound of the air raid siren, traffic will be stopped and pedestrians will be asked to follow emergency routes to the nearest underground shelters, subway stations, or other underground facilities. Those who are driving will be asked to park their cars immediately to participate in the safety drill.

Civil defense training is held throughout the year to educate residents on the proper measures to take in the case of a national emergency. Participation in safety drills is strongly advised.

Odd. I was walking from work to the nearest subway station, and was stopped about 15 meters from the station and not allowed to go down into it. Then again, the guys "running the show" looked like ordinary ajjoshis provided with whistles and yellow vests.
