They looked great in the advertising posters, so I ordered one. There was NO MEAT and the sandwich sucked for the 6,000 won I paid for it. What a ripoff! You shouldn't expect any better in Korea!! |

Did you not say anything to the staff?
Which sandwich did you buy? |

There were 2-3 slices, but not nearly as much as advertised in the advertisements. |

Korea is the land of the elusive tasty sandwich. I can't say I've had a single sandwich in K-land that wasn't seriously hurting in over 9 YEARS.
When I go back to the homeland, I eat sandwiches for lunch, breakfast and dinner. I buy 5 meats from the deli counter, some to die for rye or pumpernickle bread, and some nice fresh crisp tomatoes. Oh sandwiches! |

They've seen pictures of sandwiches but they seem to clueless about how a good one should taste. I've had students who've never had something as simple as ham and cheese with mustard. |

I only buy desert items, like muffins, cinamon rolls and thier sausage rolls. |

Koreans may not make the best sandwiches, lets take my stupid tomato and lettuce sandwich with the thinnest slice of ham humanly possible as an example, but they do make a might fine donut.
I'd go with the safer choice of donut if I was you. |

Since Starbucks is a Korean company you mean? Seriously is this a Korean thing or a Starbucks thing? No wonder they hate us:) |

I have yet to get a sandwich from a franchise restaurant that looks anything like the ad, whether it be in Korea or elsewhere. I had Taco Bell and Quizno's in Itaewon last weekend, and while I expect Taco Bell to look like crap, the turkey bacon and swiss sub I got from Quizno's was especially disappointing. |

Haha... hilarious.
1) Why would you expect there to be a good sandwich at Starbucks? Some pretty low standards for a sandwich there...
2) Why would you expect to find a good sandwich in Korea? I love good, authentic Mexican food, but I don't expect to find good Mexican food here. I don't go to some crappy mex restaurant in Itaewon and then whine like a little girl about how it's not good.
You think magically delicious sandwiches are gonna appear in Korea just because of a few whiny teachers? No.
3) You're complaining about price at Starbucks? Haha. It's not exactly the mecca of good deals.
4) Get a grip on life. |

i ride the bus from 40-55 minutes a few times a week after work to one of the 36 Subways left in Korea. Its decent, but man, is it goooooood. I have to tell the women how to make it and be slightly intimidating to her so she wont backslide and make it her way. Its worth it. |

I've had great experiences at the Subway in Hongdae. There is another place in Itaewon that makes killer sandwiches, too.. Suji's I think it's called. |

Dude, I feel your pain. The posters are huge, right by the door, and make out like they've started a great new menu of gourmet sandwiches.
Then I realized it was bread, cheese spread, and a slice of ham wrapped in plastic and delivered from some outside caterer.
They asked if I wanted it warmed up. Nice one for six bucks! |
