Hi,
I am in California and just got my FBI Clearance in the mail. I plan on going to the secretary of state office to get the document apostilled, but according to the website I need to get the document notarized first.
The FBI document I got back had a seal and signature. I called the apostille for my state and they said they still need it notarized. My question is what does the notary page officially need to state. Is the notary attaching a acknowledgement or oath? I tried asking notaries in my area but they seem to not have a lot of experience notarizing a FBI document.
My plan is to just type up the notary page and give it to the notary for a stamp and signature so we don't have to worry about what the correct form to use.

I'm in Pennsylvania, so it may be different but I got the apostille for my FBI CRC today. The notary just signed/dated the actual document along with a stamp and a seal. I brought it to the Secretary of State Office and they just did it right on the spot. You should double check just in case since you're in CA though.

| I recently got my background check too. I asked for a seal and signature but did not get them. So getting a federal apostille is not really an option (unless I want to send the check back to get the seal and signature which would probably mean waiting at least another month). I understand that I can still have it apostilled at the state level with a notarized affidavit. Should the affidavit be stapled to the top of the background check or is it kept separately? Is there any special wording that the affidavit should use? |

| They want your signature notarized on the document. I recently had mine done. I signed the document in front of the notary and he notarized it with a stamp. |

With gas prices (almost $5 in some areas), costing $60 to fill up now, so high, instead of running around everywhere and stuck in traffic or go to some random notary (some notary charge $10) that does not know how to notarize FBI check. If they do it wrong, you can get it rejected.
You have an option to send it to apostille pros www.apostillepros.com
They can notarize and apostille the same day and ship out the same day. With FBI check and degree you don't have to be present. With power of attorney documents you must be present in front of a notary. For the FBI cbc or degree, you just have to ship them your original documents and they do everything correctly that is accepted by the Korean Immigration. Send it Monday, they get it on Tuesday, you get it back by Wednesday, apostille.

Have you used apostillepros?
If I tell them I have a CBC (sealed/signed by FBI) will they know what needs to be done for this E2 (after the recent changes)? Or will I have to walk them through the process?
For $200 and how much time I'll be set back for an error, I want to know for sure these guys won't mess up. |

They're Apostille Pros, like professionals. They know what to do. It's what they do. Like a doctor, a doctor would know what to do. It's their profession. They guarantee their work. It won't get rejected. Don't worry. A lot of people on this forum used their services before.

here's a company a friend and i used to get our degrees apostilled. mailed out tuesday, back in korea the following monday. costs a bit but saves a headache.

$175 may seem like a lot to some people, yes, I was in Korea. I had an agency take care of it. It cost me $240, which included international fed-x, but but it was done very promptly. Yes, it was accepted by immigration.

| First of all, make sure that the CBC has been signed (acknowledged) by Kimberly Johnson of the FBI. Once you have this signature/stamp, take it to the Secretary of State's office in Sacramento and have the clerk apostille the document, and you should be set. |

It should be Kimberly J. Del Greco, but there can be multiple signers/stamper, so maybe another Kimberly works there.

I've just got my fbi crc apostilled in california two weeks ago.
What I did was to go to a notary and get a jurat affidavit for the crc. This is just a signed and sworn statement stating that the crc is official and unaltered. Then I drove to the sec of state office and they put the apostille on it in about ten minutes. |
