First year, probably most U.S. average out about...take home $2,600-3,000 roughly. And probably get $1,000 when you file taxes.

With bachelor and teaching credentials. I'm thinking in South Korea you make 2,000-2,500/month.

Public school, private school, international school, hagwan or university?
Qualifications:
Bachelors, masters, ABD, Ph.D. Certified teacher or not.
Type of teaching:
ESL, Subjects (math, science, arts).

The range would vary from as low as $1600 (1.8m KRW) to as high as $5200 (6m KRW) per month.

Many of the jobs for expats include, in addition to the base salary, things like: housing, medical, pension, accumulated severance and airfare (often annually). The amount of PAID annual vacation can vary widely as well from as little as 2 weeks if you work at a hagwan to as much as 4 months with some of the better university positions.

.

Don't be daft. You might potentially be able to work as many hours as you want doing privates (illegally if you're on an E2) but you can't charge people 1 million dollars an hour for your services can you?
