| I'm going to get a part-time job and was wondering what I need to do. I know the rules on the type of job it can be and that it has to be less hours, less pay, etc... But do I need approval from my current school? Do I need to go to immigration myself or can the school do that for me? |

Did this just yesterday.
Authorization by your primary employer is required. My presence at immigration was necessary to fill in & sign a form, get a sticker in my passport & an update on my ARC. Maybe a secondary employer could do that on your behalf but mine accompanied me & handed over the documents relevant to the new job, which made the procedure quick & simple. Its free.
This was after the fact of having started my new extra job, but within two weeks, which I think is something the new immi regs require. |
