I'm going to get a part-time job and was wondering what I need to do. I know the rules on the type of job it can be and that it has to be less hours, less pay, etc... But do I need approval from my current school? Do I need to go to immigration myself or can the school do that for me?

Did this just yesterday.

Authorization by your primary employer is required. My presence at immigration was necessary to fill in & sign a form, get a sticker in my passport & an update on my ARC. Maybe a secondary employer could do that on your behalf but mine accompanied me & handed over the documents relevant to the new job, which made the procedure quick & simple. Its free.

This was after the fact of having started my new extra job, but within two weeks, which I think is something the new immi regs require.
