It tastes surprisingly awesome. I highly recommend it as long as you like kimchi and Ranch.
Since ranch is not easy to come by, I'm going to try out kimchi and mayo, and also my new idea , jumbo shrimp, wrapped in kimchi dipped in ranch/mayo.
Does it sounds good to anyone else? |

One of my buddies used to say ranch could make anything taste good, lol.
I don't know about kimchi and ranch, sounds a little nasty but Gogi Mandu
dipped in ranch tastes pretty good. |

On a somewhat related note, I only tolerated kimchi my first year there, eating it mostly at the school lunches. But in my second and third year I really started to like it. The reason for the change? I started eating it mixed in with the rest of the meal, not by itself in a side dish. Mixing in it in can really spice up and enhance a meal.
So yes, I bet kimchi and ranch would work well together. |

Ha ha.
Would slopping ranch souce all over your kimchi be considered an insult to the resturant, or are they simply content taking your won? |

You mean akin to how a good steakhouse chef would be insulted if someone poured ketchup over their filet mignon?? Not sure if Koreans feel the same way about kimchi. But I am betting they would just shake their heads and be content taking the won. |

I'm not sure how they feel about tainting kimchee, but my friend and I brought a package of tortillas and Tapatio hot sauce to a galbi restaurant and the staff there loved it. We rolled Korean tacos for several of the staff and got free beer and meat in return. It also tasted better than any of the Mexican restaurants I've eaten at in Korea. |

I mix sriracha sauce with ranch sometimes, so I'm betting it would be tasty. |

Tainted? Cultures and foods change and evolve over time. Ever seen some of the korean stews that use cheap slices of hotdog meat?
I also hated the taste of kimchi, but mixed in with other foods its great. One exception is sour kimchi. It tastes great even by itself. |

RAAAAAANCH!
I never tried it with kimchi. Great with Bibimbap, though. |

Reminds me of a sauce I make for crab cakes... Mayo, french dressing, and a dash or two of hot sauce. |

I bet fried mandu would taste good dipped in ranch. Same for pajeon, kimbap, soondae and dwejigalbi. I think I'm going to run to Costco and getting a big bottle of ranch. |

I've experimented with sour cream and kimchi before. Kimchi, sour cream, cheese and ham sandwiches taste pretty good. |
