I need to determine student levels for a small after school class. Any ideas about some tests or ways to rank them?
The students are elementary from 4th-6th grade. I'd like to get a grasp on their speaking and reading ability and their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. |

I only started work on Thursday and already I've had to do two of these tests. However they gave me a list of 10 questions to check the students ability.
From what I remember they started as easy as what is your name and what grade are you in. They then moved through to questions like what did you do last weekend and how often do you do these things. Some of the last questions to be asked where things like do you know what pollution is and can you tell me ways to reduce this?
I found that the questions were a bit silly and I would of preferred to write them myself. I also think it is of great value to word the questions in different ways as opposed to starting every question with what, which etc.
Hope this helps |

Try doing searches for the Cambridge kids exams sample materials. Starters, Movers and Flyers or lower level adult ones KET and PET. |
