Everyone should see a match at least once. It's exciting, for soccer. The crowds here really get into it. Seoul's World Cup Stadium is easy to reach on the #6 subway line.
BTW, where is the stadium in Suwon? |

Suwon Stadium's right next to Ajou University, in the eastern part of Suwon.
I'd love to go to the game there. I went to the Korea-Ecuador friendly at Seoul World Cup Stadium, and while I had a blast the commute home to Suwon was a pain in the ass. But, alas, the downside of working at a hagwon. Always miss out on events on weeknights. |

World Cup Stadium is actually a stop on the #6 line of the Seoul subway system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Cup_Stadium_Station
As you leave the station, and take the escalator up, you will be right next to the stadium. There are restaurants and a food court around the stadium but on game days they get very crowded.
The stadium seats more than 60,000 so you should be able to get a seat for a friendly match. That shouldn't be a problem. The Korean fans are really into the Korean national team and soccer but not in a "hooligan" kind of way, so don't worry about nasty crowds. |

| Suwon World Cup Stadium is a real pain to get to and from when there is a game. I went to a friendly last year and I vowed never to go again because 1) the subway station is quite a distance; 2) the traffic before and after a game is HORRENDOUS, forget about getting a taxi; 3) and for me, it's far from Seoul. |

The traffic is Suwon is bad all of the time. I can't imagine what it's like after a game. |

You can get a bus from Gangnam to Suwon but it'll take a while and will be crowded...best leave in plenty of time... |

Friendly against Montenegro on March 29 canceled
By Yoon Chul
The Korean national football teams friendly on March 29 has been canceled due to the request from the Montenegro Football Association, Thursday.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) said the Montenegro football governing body sent an official document requesting the cancelation of the match.
The visitors, who planned to play at the Suwon World Cup Stadium, were also scheduled to fly to Japan on March 25 but the game was also called off following the massive earthquake there.
As Korea is close geographically to Japan the players dont think its appropriate to come here at this time, a KFA official said.
The KFA has yet to decide whether they will seek a new opponent for the friendly

Source, please? The ads for this game keep running.
The proposed Olympic friendly with China has been ruled out but the Korea-Honduras game will proceed. |
