You had better make sure you spell check before you post a new topic!!!
VanIslander crapped the bed again last night and is having a bad day.
HEY VAN, word of advice, if you have nothing productive to say, SAY NOTHING!! Nobody wants to hear you rant and rave about what pisses you off. Get a life.

I think you can fix the log in problem by clicking on "My computer" and go to the "tools" menu. There should be an icon there that will allow you to adjust log on features and passwords. Mine is in Korean, which makes it even harder. I will ask my Korean friend later to offer you more help. Good luck with it. |

What operating system are you on? If you're on Windows XP, just go into control panel -> user accounts and add a password to your account. |

I think if you add a new user account to Windows XP, then it won't log on automatically. You'll have to pick which account to log on as when the machine starts up. |

Or just select "Use the Welcome Screen" under User Accounts options. |

Gord - Don't get what you mean...i can't find that option anywhere. Also, logging out and then logging in - it is still there. I had a co-worker use my name the other day to ask about release letters, so I want to take my password off the computer... |

Are you talking about logging on the computer or a particular website? |

I mean logging in and out of this website...anyway half the time i have to repeat my log-in just to either wite or view my messages...frustrating. Where is this "use the welcome screen", and where does it say "user accounts"?? I only see "profile" and there's nothing under that... |

If you say you have to repeat your login, then you are not automatically being logged in.
Log out is under "usergroups" which is next to "search"
Log out. then in the same place hit "log in"
under where it says user name and password there is a box to check for automatic log in. |

Maybe you're not hearing me...I click to log in. I write the first letter of my username (n) and noelinkorea pops up. Hit enter, and voila! - you have my password there. Hit enter again, and there you have my account. Logging in and logging out actually achieves nothing more than logging in and logging out. |

In the browser: tools, internet options, content, auto complete...turn off the auto complete there. |

I would also clear cookies on your browser ...
Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Cookies
I believe you can only do this on IE 5.5 or 6.0 and later. |

If you want to customize all of your computer options easily and readily, get the Tuneup Utilities 2004 trial from the maker's site. It also has a cleanup, and every other utility you could possibly want for computer maintenance. To clear those cookies, as another poster recommended, get Window Washer.
To clear adware/spyware get Adaware and Spy Sweeper. |
