I am sure a lot of people were aware of this and maybe hit it up at an earlier time, but as I was strolling down from Itaewon towards Samgakchi station I heard loud music and saw a sign explaining what you needed to get on base and enjoy the concert and food. All I needed was my ARC and admission was free. Wasn't really focusing on the music but rather the loads of authentic US quality BBQ meats. Loads of big hot dogs and sausages and generous patties with all the toppings. Beer was Bud Light in stadium bottles, but everything was really cheap. I ate more than I should knowing it would be a year before this happened again. Was surprised there weren't more militart types there. That food at those prices is not easy to come by in this country. |

It was great for them to let the public in. Are there any other events like this where those without a base pass are allowed? Or just this once yearly? |

I don't think it's too common, and I was surprised that I hadn't heard more about this one, considering the eats. I once went to a festival the air force held off the base in Songtan. It was even better with local restaurants setting up on the street as well as the base putting out a lot of great food. That took place in the fall so hopefully someone will post if that is happening again. |

They probably limit public events because of the professional protestors and others who have negative attitudes towards the USA.
I wish they did more events. A couple years ago there was an air show at Osan Air Base that was great. They had food and lots of things to buy. |

I have heard that there's supposed to be another air show in that area this fall, open to the public. I really, really hope so. My kid can't stop talking on and on and on about helicopters. Does anyone have any details, know when it might be? |

I have defintely heard about the Osan air show. The thing I went to down in Songtan I think was called Freedom Fest and it was different from the airshow. Things were off base but they had certain parts of the Air Force, like the fire department, demonstrating things, and free concerts. I heard about it through here and am hoping it comes around again. It was on for two days in October I believe. |
