Hey guys! I just discovered this website via facebook. It is a social commerce company for foreigners... so think of groupon (which I heard is actually in Korea already) but for english speaking folk. has anyone heard of this? The company is called Dealicious.
I used groupon A LOT back home but all the websites I find in Korea are all in Korean (surprise!) and you also need a Korean CC, which I've heard is difficult to get.

Check out the FB page...what do you guys think? If this is really happening, I would be a like a kid in a candy store!!!!!! |

What is a "groupon"? I'm can assume that it is a combination of group and coupon, but what exactly does it all entail?

Yeah, it's happening. It's brand new. I know the guy who is starting this website (though not well, he's the friend of a friend). I think the offers are starting soon. I hope it works out, both for his sake - he seems like a nice guy, and because it would be cool to have this kind of site for English speakers in Korea.

Groupon is an internet thing where you sign up and the website gives you 'deals of the day.' you click on the deals that you like and buy the coupon at a discounted price. It gives you HUGE discounts on everything from restaurants to spas to night clubs. I SUPER excited we get to have something like this. I've been in Korea for two years now and am always so frustrated we can't get these deals through the Korean websites (at least I can't b/c I don't have a Korean CC).

Nice, I'm so glad they are starting this. I had a similar idea a few weeks ago. Even though there are a billion groupon clones, I think this will work great for expats in Korea and I'm sure this site will be a huge success. There are so many businesses in Seoul that would like to tap the foreign market. This will be one way for them to do it. And it is a just about impossible for us to use use Groupon Korea and all of the Korean deal site clones. Hope that all means huge savings for us.
